....people giving up completely the tick they're conquered? Out of the 25 colonies who are not my conquers anymore, only 5 rebelled. The rest simply turned into OPs from inactivity. I can't blame them, it's a boring 72 ticks being conquered...

One problem I see is the fact that there are a lot of resources given to someone when they start, so people think that starting over again won't be so bad.
What they fail to realize is that no matter what they do, they will be conquered when starting out... it's just something you have to push through if you want to be any good. Most newbs don't see it that way, and it makes it so conquers are constantly rotating in and out.

I agree with this. When you first start you should expect to be conquered.. and they should let the newbs know that being conquered actually isn't that bad.. takes a lot of the stress out of the game and you can start building up... i have seen someone who was conquered... stayed conquered and just hunted down crystals in the old BD. they were ranked in the top 50 while being conquered lol
not sure what the answer is here... all though... BD is still a very active game and 19 out of my 26 conqueres are still playing... i do think that something should be done though.. just not sure what.

Maybe something should be added in the tutorial? Like "You will most likely be conquered sometime in the start of the game. Do not worry, almost everyone have been conquered sometime in their BD career."

I think the biggest problem is that this version seems to require more resources than the old version in order to really get playing, but there isn't very much more in the way of incoming resources... then once you are conquered, there goes another 10% of what you were making.
My suggestion would be to raise the "base" resource intake, but lower the taxation rate.
i.e. without conquers, you make 100 metal per tick instead of what would have been 80, but taxation goes down from 10% to 8%, so what was 80 would have 10% taxation = 8 metal to the conqueror, and what is now 100 would have 8% taxation = still 8 metal to the conqueror.
So the tax given to the conquerer is the same as what it would have been, but it is a much smaller portion of the conquered player's income. In this example, the conquered player would still have 92 metal of their own instead of the 72 metal that it would have been.
On the current E1 system that would be 20*48=960 metal per day, which is a large amount when you are starting out.

it depends on the player
most random people that find BD once they are conquered arent going to want to play anymore

On the current E1 system that would be 20*48=960 metal per day, which is a large amount when you are starting out. We changed the resource production a lot from what E1-E3 currently have, once they reset they will have a proper balance as well. Metal production ends up at 20% and oil at 14%, the old client was 14% for metal and 11% for oil so the values have greatly increased. Also players get A LOT more starting resources now to get into the game to make the initial stages of the game much easier. Battle Dawn is a niche game because it is a slower and more methodical game which turns away many gamers who want more in your face action. We have done many things to make the starting of the game easier to get into including the starting resources in the new client, protection time, a step by step tutorial to teach the game interface and general objectives and not to mention the adopt-a-newb program created by players to mentor newbies.

but andrew, don't u think te easy start might tempt them to make new account and a new colony because it's so simple with that many starting resources

The starting resources does make it easy to get a small start but it doesn't give you enough to get more than a few basic structures built and maybe a small army of armoured units.
