If i have a spy in my colony/outpost, does it guard me and how?

BTW: how can i protect myself from spy attacks without using SpyProtection?

A spy in your colony only guards you if you have him put up spy protection, which then protects you from spy attacks unless the enemy spy has more infiltration than you have protection.

You really can't protect yourself without spy protection I guess unless you don't give anybody a reason to want to spy attack you.

Without using spy protection, you cannot defend yourself from an enemy spy. You need this spy protection so people can't damage your units or lock you down.

I have built a spy, and i've used SpyProtection which cost 20E and now i should have that protection, but i can't see it... Where i can see my protecion ticks or something?
