Why are shields relatively weak against the computer & much stronger when in a .vs match?
Thanks, Josh

I'm fairly sure there's no difference between vs A.I. and PvP. Could you be imagining things? :3

It's impossible to tell which shield an opponent is using unless you're in a computer battle & have time to do the math, but to me it seems like the vs shields are tougher to break when playing against a human.

shields use energy to absorb damage, so if u see the shield is harder to break, then either the shield is higher level, or the opponent energy is higher, or the opponent resistance to your damage type is higher...

I suspect there's several layers of energy-based damage calculations going what with all the energy mods players stash in their mechs and that does some good confuddling of the expected damage

you see, shield 3 and 4 i found to be almoust useless, because it drains too fast...agree, you get 50 % less dmg, but on a long time battle you hit your opponent with energy based weap and his shield is gone in 2 max hits. then he have no energy left

ofc energy drain weapons are mostly anti-shield... and it's not advised to use energy-based weapons when u have a shield.

The green energy bar is my concern. It can variably range from just a few points deducted to the majority of the bar at random. Obviously if an electrical resistance module is in use the energy bar is more resistant.
