This idea came from when I was playing the well-known game League of Legends.
So, if you quit a game for the first time, you get a warning. If you do it 3 times in, say, 3 days, you are banned from multiplayer matches for a week.
This will probably get a lot of no's, but I still feel like I should throw it out there.

No from me, quitting when outmatched is a time saver and should not be punished.

Totally unreasonable with the current set-up. if i'm gonna be strapped up against someone 5 levels over me than i'm not gonna waste my time sitting their for him to win the match

No.
One match takes few minutes, if someone quits on you, bugger, one clock and few seconds later, you have another enemy. But maybe that is how it works for me, I had quitter only once or twice, other instances are when enemy thinks he will loose and saves both of us time by quitting, smart and humble move.
Don't threat it like quitting, it's rising the white flag, giving up. In Heartstone I sometimes give up when outperformed by my foe to save time, and that's the game where with some incredible luck, you can still win most of the time.
