First, remove the weight limits. And then,
If your weight is lighter than opponent's weight, you are given first 1 action. If difference of the weight is more than 100, give you 2 actions of first turn. If difference of the weight is more than 200, give you 3 actions of first turn. If difference of the weight is more than 300, give you 4 actions of first turn. If difference of the weight is more than 400, give you 5 actions of first turn. If difference of the weight is more than 500, give you 6 actions of first turn. If difference of the weight is more than 600, give you 7 actions of first turn. If difference of the weight is more than 700, give you 8 actions of first turn. If difference of the weight is more than 800, give you 9 actions of first turn. If difference of the weight is more than 900, give you 10 actions of first turn. Stamping should be limited 2 times considering that each weapon can be used only one time in first turn.
If so, It is possible to make any mechs you wanted, But weight is still important. I think It enable us to create more diverse mechs.
Example) A lightweight offensive mech will be strategic. Even equipping four swords has a meaning.

This sounds like a good idea, but I don't think it will work like that. I would say mechs to have a speed stat and based on that you (may) get a few extra moves per match.
Having fixed stuff is not good idea, imagine a very light mech with an iron shredder equipped that gets about 9 extra moves lol... rank 1 anyone?!

You should know that each weapon can be used only one time in first turn except stamping. I added it to this post. In that case, a very light mech can use a iron shredder only one time, stamping two times and can use drone, shield, teleport, harpoon, charge, resist kits if a mech has them and enough energy.

Sorry, but I would rather quit or let the other guy win than monkey around like that for 9 moves lol But your other idea with the yellow shield is good. In fact shields have a really bad design in this game, most people only use the 20% ones which is a shame, they should at least have their own energy/heat bar rather than consuming the entire energy of the mech or overheating it to hell, in real life only an imbecile would build a shield without capacitors.

Look at this combo attack. 1. Teleport attack 2. Stamping 3. Harpoon 4. Stamping 5. Charge 6. Iron Shredder 7. Activate a drone If a lightweight mech has more weapons, the combo attack can be more powerful by using all weapons! Since a lightweight mech has low durability, try to finish early. Since a heavy mech has high durability, try to survive. Therefore, Its case is similar to attacker vs defender. Of course, 10 action bonuses may be very rare unless opponents are heavier than 1500 weights.
