I'd like to purpose changes to the shotguns. I am not suggesting all be applied just one of the ideas to curve the overreliance of them.
1) Make the things use like 60 bullets a shot.
2) Greatly lower the % of hits above 80 HP.
3) Provide a tighter window. say 50-90
4) Cause a large drain of resources on the user I.E. 100 heat per shot or 100 energy.
Let me know what you think. I feel like the game has become a flip of a coin or paper, rock scissors where as it use to have a chess like quality.

Shotguns? I think they already exist (Let's say, for example, the weapon called < Safe Shot > that deals an average of 78 damage per shot). There are weapons that consume a ridiculous amount of ammunition and deal tremendous damage. I think there's even no need for more weapons.P.S. You misspelled "shotgun" in the post title. Please excuse me for being a grammar Nazi...

His problem is with the shotgun X's at level 30 that deal either a small amount of damage or a HUGE amount of damage. These weapons DO add a lot of chance to the game and I've disliked them ever since they were released. I think they do need change, and would be something great to change with the upcoming patch.

You are correct Andy. The level 30 shotguns are a great idea and I'd like to thank the developers for being innovative and providing new items. Sometimes great ideas just do play out so well in practice. I think they make a great novelty item but the % of high damage should be lowered (just one idea) so these items remain as a novelty.
On the other hand, I have been using the shotgun in the development server and notice that it does serve as a great equalizer. someone brand new without +10 fused items can contend with old timers.... I know this doesn't help my case but thought it was interesting.

Oh I see. I didn't understand what was suggested. I suppose there is nothing wrong with a little more changes. So, what's the catch? Do we get to see new perks that affect the game play?

Just get rid of the silly things and replace them with a weapon that doesn't use bullets, does 20-35 damage (+20 for physical), range 2, 2 knock back, and +25 heat/energy damage. Using the shotgun for anything other than what this new weapon could do is just gambling. No strategy at all and very boring.

Just scrap the shotguns too many people use them and they win only from luck I lose loads of battles and they are mainly shotguns
