Hi,

In this post I am going to talk about different ways to fit good weapons and modules on a mech without going over the weight limit.

Here's my mech: http://tinypic.com/usermedia.php?uo=nvlS1L5AwLPybJJVu5522Yh4l5k2TGxc

1) Equip a low-level teleport. Unless you use energy a lot, you won't need a high-level one, and they use a lot of energy.

2) Use multi-resistance modules. Although these are heavier than individual resistance modules, they will save weight because they give every type of resistance, and leave space for other modules.

3) Don't use kits. Kits are expensive and heavy, and unless your opponent is very powerful, the most you will ever need to use is the repair kit.

4) Use regeneration/cooldown modules. These are better than dual-heat/electric modules, and more effective.

5) Use shields. Although shields will not be useful all the time, you only need a 20% or 25% shield to make a difference. Avoid 40-50% shields because they are heavy and drain a lot of energy.

6) Choose your drone carefully. Drones are an important item in most battles, choose one that fits your damage type. Ideally, choose one that doesn't require ammunition, because ammunition takes up space and is heavy.

This is just bad advice. A good shield is an essential tool, provided, of course, you have enough energy/heat regen/cooling.

Agreed. I use a low level 9 shield for 20% damage resist, barely takes half my energy away when hit. The only time i dont use my shield is against another energy build.
