Mythical shards are a great alternative to the <1 Chance of mythicals in normal boxes. And you may also save $ when buying mythical boxes

How it works: mythical shards are small fragments of a mythical item and they are a new currency for purchasing mythical boxes. So whenever you click on a mythical box there will be 2 options, buying it with tokens or mythical shards

10 shards= Mythical box
20 shards= 3 item Mythical box

How to obtain:
1. 4% chance, campaign prize crates (1 shard)

2. 4% chance, ladder battle bonus win reward ( 1-2 shards)

3. Voting for trump (just joking)

Appearance: reddish-orange crystal shard

Benefits: it can make battles much more rewarding rather than getting useless SM every battle. May also benefit f2p players (very unlikely).
