I was interested in doing a project like this on my own before you put this up tho I wanted to implement this in Fantasy servers for the next reasons:
Earth is much of patience and politics which may end up making it boring for new players and would push them to leave earlier than expected.
Mars has a design that little new players prefer due to the lack of strategic locations and more direct confrontations (not to mention the lack of "attractive colors")
Fantasy has less politics going on than earth still has many strategic locations that might interest players. Still the use of mountains and forests as limitations for expansions and location of mines tends to attract more active players.
At least I've observed such patterns.
Anyway I'll put up the same idea for Fantasy servers so any possible mentors that would like to help will be considered

. of course we shall be building probably around the antarctic region so they can learn the basics of expanding without much interference from boosting alliances.
in my opinion Fantasy is a great world but it gets a little boring at times
Earth is great because of big wars and top alliance clashes. it will be a fun era to watch and if we are strong enough maybe even participate in a war
who knows? the possibilities are endless
as for you making a Fantasy version i think thats a great idea as i know many people who are much more inclined to play fantasy
it should be quite popular for you
