:3 standing ovation :3
obama is probably the only person who can acheive good middle east - US relations.
he is addressing israel and palestine as a specialty, which if anyone remembers me stubbornly poking people in the face on the issue.
McCain? aka. Bush the 3rd. could never acheive anything close to peace talks in the middle east. a lot of hope is riding on Obama.
discuss. can get pretty lax and issues will change as new news comes up :3

Well, Obama might be "friendlier" then bush, we really shouldn't be bothered with the Middle East right now.
We got a crisis to deal with, and a nuking-country.
Let's fix our own problems first, before we end up like those who we try to help, shall we ?

Establishing good peace talks, might be good for future times, then they have less upheaval too worry about, and can concentrate on the mess in there own country.

I watched the coverage of Obama's speech on Al-Jazeera UK, which is always the best news channel for coverage of middle-east affairs. To say that Obama was well received would be an understatement, and the universal sentiment amongst people on the streets from Egypt to Iran was HOPE.
It was a statesman-like defining moment for Obama, showing that the man has as much substance as charisma.
The underlying sentiment though was that Obama's olive branch needs to be supported by action if it is going to bear any fruit. Fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed. uhm... wut? lol, pretty high standard of english there... ill make it easier through summary "I watched the coverage of Obama's speech on Al-Jazeera UK, which is always the best news channel for coverage of middle-east affairs.""I watched a middle eastern TV channel, it is biased.""To say that Obama was well received would be an understatement, and the universal sentiment amongst people on the streets from Egypt to Iran was HOPE.""Obama was welcomed, he was supported greatly by everyone, everyone in Egypt and Iran were going YAYS!""It was a statesman-like defining moment for Obama, showing that the man has as much substance as charisma.""Obama is more then just inspirational""The underlying sentiment though was that Obama's olive branch needs to be supported by action if it is going to bear any fruit. Fingers crossed."first off olive branch - peace offering bear any fruit - results the actual message is that Obama's peace offering needs action if there are to be good results.

Very concise! Although, what news channel isn't biased? I actually watch Al Jazeera because of it's relative lack of bias & in depth coverage of events that get a 5 minute soundbite on other channels - or at least for a middle-eastern perspective on those events. Give it a go if you haven't already. I'm an AWG in Scotland, so that's where my perspective on Al-Jazeera comes from.
