I am creating this thread as many players often state that Battle dawn eras are very similar and some eras need to be spiced up a little so I am creating this thread so we can discuss possible ideas and suggestions of custom eras (different rules etc), pointing out their flaws and amending them before putting them officially on the community suggestions. Any ideas are welcome no matter how bizarre or random they sound.

Here is an example:

Area lockdown:

For the whole era (In this example Antarctica) will not be able to be built on (this can be done by the admin putting ops down with protection or some other way). This therefore would create new strategies as suddenly a large section of the map is removed making different points more strategically beneficial than others which could be very different to normal earth eras.

Just a quick suggestion from me feel free to discuss or suggest other types of eras.

From a long time i have this era in my mind , but didnt put it on forum as i think it might sound any great but as i see now ads himself made a thread asking new ideas , so i will put this down , hope u guys like it :).

Alien Invasion :

This era will start as any other era with teams allowed to plant anywhere and grow , but anywhere after tick 300-400 when the newbs have come out of protection and everyone has conquered their share , 10 colonies (looking similar to our galaxy colonies) will appear on 1 continent , it can be any continent decided previously by admins or by those 10 players picked by admins. As those 10 players were placed after 300 ticks , hence they can be given units with higher range like R27 something or with high resource income (something to give them advantage to give tough fight to all alliances that come for them) , their squads, colony and nukes shall look like those galaxy stuff to keep giving the feel of the alien thing :) . Also those 10 alien space stations/colonies shall stay in protection for 12 ticks when placed , so the particular alliance of that continent doesnt get picked fast.

I know the idea isnt perfect but i hope with ur valuable suggestions it can be perfected and implemented on E1 or E4 . Also i remember Ilona said on some thread that she wanted to do an era where a team made of 10 pro people will fight the whole world , so i guess those 10 aliens can be those pro people .

Pls quote all ur suggestions and i hope this idea get implemented after some positive changes.

Something similar was attempted on F4. After HORD dominated the era, the admins took them out for an era, but made them an event. They were given super units and at a certain tick came out of protection. Not sure how well that worked out though :(

I mean, I'm all for custom eras. But the only thing is that they would have to be played on a brand new server which would cost money, the upkeep would cost money, etc. So for this custom era, there would have to be a very large amount of boosters to cover it and make it even worth it in the eyes of BD

Why not just have these "custom eras" take place of an existing world. Depending on the needs, we simply make them take the place of a world for an era. If we need a 3 ticker, then we take it to one. If we need a 1 ticker earth, then we wait till E1 or E4 are available. Make it to whatever the need is and more so make this a topic for different custom era ideas.

Thats why you do it on E1 or E4. That way whoever usually plays on one of those two worlds can get shifted to the other if they don't want to play, and then in turn there will be more competition on that world for that era.

Who cares if an alliance likes to "dominate" that world? Tough. If they can't take up a challenge, then they shouldn't be "dominating" that world that era. Schoolyard Showdown happened on M2 (CME's territory) and CME wasn't even there for that. Yet, they came back afterwards and won era's 42-51. If an "alliance" wishes to call a world their own, then they can take up whatever challenge occurs there, or they can simply skip out that era like CME did. It's really not the biggest deal in my opinion .
