Around this time last year the Championship era was in full swing. An era that ended up having 74 mass boosts. If you calculate how much boosting is needed to get to that number, you would come to the conclusion that Tactisoft made anywhere between 40k and 60k USD on that era alone. Net of costs and taxes.
Out of that something like 7.5k USD came from me personally. And for my troubles I asked for one thing - make BD a better game for the next players.
One year later, the second rendition of the Championship era is the worst exercise in marketing and PR I have ever seen, including my "talk to the flowers" seminar in 1st grade.
Clumsy e-mail sent randomly and at different times announcing it, no details on what server they will use, what are the prizes for the winners, not even maximum alliance size or ticks/hour!
6 weeks before the event and if you click on Championship Era on the forum it says it will start on April 1st, 2013.
This is not only an insult to every player that donated hard earned money to this game, but also the signal that nothing has changed since the first time i started playing many years ago. Same incompetence, same lack of vision and professionalism, same disregard for the customer.
If you intend to play the Championship era, don't! Not before they acknowledge they need to shape up and actually do something in exchange for all the money you are paying them. I have been done with this game for over a year but for all those still spending nights and reds playing it, you deserve more. Much more!
Till then Clash of Clans and even playing cards with a friend is a way better option!
Best,
D

I agree wholeheartedly with the general statement you are making here. For an event that grossed tens of thousands of dollars last year, you would think the next event would be created in an even better fashion. More professional with better marketing.
Though I also think that the core Battledawn players who will play the next Championship Era don't care much at all anymore how Battledawn is run and have adapted instead and continue to play for their own fun and ego's.
P.S. Those of us in DoCE(VND) that did not finish top 10 are still awaiting our green ribbons that we were promised to all members of winning alliance.

Hi Cosmin! Long time no see.
Did the email really say April 1st? I was informed that it was June 1st, several weeks ago. Mind checking the date on that again? I was asked to start coming up with assets for the lead up to the championship, only earlier this week.
Ilona is currently on vacation with her family, and I am working outside of BD full time, so yeah, things are a little quiet around here at the moment.
E6, just like last time. Alot of it is all going to be much like last time. I got some folks helping to make the catch up guide current, etc, and work up the new email, etc etc...
Anyway, Im sorry youve gone sour on BD. Not sure if you ever did/still have me on Skype. Feel free to hit me there if you wanna chat.

hello from turkey to you Andrei Nice to see that you haven't changed too. I really missed you and your posts here.
Back to the topic:
Would you please change the subject of your thread? Please make it: Does Ilonas incompetence has no limit? So I can say yes?!
You are right, I made some terrible marketing mistakes...
I announced way to early that the CC14 will start at the first of June 2014
Maybe, I should take the class "talk to the flowers" again too. Would you spend as player all or a huge amount of your tokens, no matter if they are red or blue, when you know that a big event is coming up in a few months? Would you? I think, you wouldn't do that. The players thought the same.... The result of this early announcement (the first newsletter was sent 10 february 2014) was that the amount of spent tokens decreased by 70% Good job, Ilona
I am not sure, where you saw that it will be in april again. Please look up the original date of the posts. There were some necro'ed.
For your info, and of course for all others: Server : e6, 1 tick/h Prizes will be announced as soon as I am back, alliance size will be decided in public voting also as soon as I am back. (In 8 days)
Well, I learned my lesson, the next CE won't be announced till a max of 5-6 weeks before it will start.
Cya soon,
Ilona

Best,
D Glad to see someone actually used my statistics post to see how many mass boosts were done But yes, I agree it should have stated tick speed, server, winner prizes and alliance size in the email for sure. It's a very unclear email, and there is no landing page like the championship we had before. I am still hoping this era is going to get close to being as good as the last CE was, but with the big donator Andrei not playing and both Gaurav and me not playing, I have my fears. The reigning champion alliance sadly will not be there to defend their title, nor will I be trying to go for 2 consecutive rank 1 finishes

There will be a new email with more infos soon. Here, it takes me 10 min to log into one of my servers. I don't dare to do mass mails or anything important until I am back
