Cheers mate! As always, your understanding and mediation as a leader earns my deepest respect. 8-)

We will figured something out. With your help, I am confident we can come to some consensus as long as we all are realistic about what is at stake. Admins are here to attempt to balance the equation. To add human understanding to pure mechanics and Boolean values.

The edge we have over computers is that we can recognize the human element in our balancing efforts and appeal to the human element when we recognize problems beyond what mechanics alone can conquer.

While this is true, we admins too are only human and far from perfect.

Personally I would absolutely love to play a round in which HORD was split up. Even if just for an era that could do some real good for the players involved. The HORD players are highly respected by those, including myself, who have talked to them and fought against them before and there is no doubt in my mind they are some of the best and brightest players Battle Dawn has ever seen.

But why not spread some of their knowledge amongst some of the other players. Teach others how to play the right way. Show them how to go from being a good player to a great player. Heck, even help set up teams for the era to follow.

It would be a bit slow and boring for HORD most likely but the following era you could maybe have some real competition. Help train and set up the best opposing teams you can instead of just having teams with 5 out of 10 players being active holding out as long as they can against you guys. By the way that would be about, what, 500+ ticks? ;)

TBD is great this era but we can't all always be as active as we'd like but maybe if HORD knew how we played they could find another team like us and better match us up to be a bigger threat to you guys next time.

Seth, a lot of respect for you running the server and I only wish I could support it more. It has been a lot of fun the last two eras I have been on and I couldn't ask for better teams to go against. While yes, I can easily see what you mean by HORD being "Bullies", I really do believe that if players got to know them better they would likely agree that these guys are really just doing what they think is best for Battle Dawn. And that is trying to make everyone work together and strengthen as a community. I can't blame them if about 6 teams can't keep up with 1 or even 2 teams.

Respect and Regards

sorry for going off topic, but you just wrote down an old idea of mine as I was still the leader of an alliance:

Split my team into 4 teams (at that time we had 12 members on mars) a 3 persons. Those 4 teams will go to any other server and recruit there. No pro's allowed, just newbies. After 2 months, the leaders of these teams decide on a theme and a tick speed and fight AGAINST each other and see who made the best team :)

I am sure that we could have done that without risking our friendship. Too bad, it never happened :/

To go on with what Ilona just said, I find some of the most enjoyable eras I've been in is when I go on a server alone and recruit straight from the map. It's really fun watching a group grow and turn into a force to be reckoned with, so I do encourage others to try this mentality.

Guys, especially Seth, reading your messages somehow I have the feeling I must feel kinda quilty for becoming part of HORD ... which is weird...because ...damn it!... I am hell of a proud to be part of HORD!!!

I play this game for more than 2 years, I have learned this game from HORD members, and learned it well. I was part of AOD, lead it for more than 1 year, applying same principles of honour, loyalty, friendship and determination like HORD.
Why AOD didnt became as powerfull as HORD? Is very simple: because I never could gather a team of 10 active members, willing to spend and waste their nights in this game. With honour and everything we were ok, all other alliances can confirm this, but activity killed us. Actually this is the MAIN REASON why HORD doesnt have opponents in F4, lets face it.

And for this you want HORD to feel quilty?

There are people in life who give 110% in everything what they do, this is HORD. If others dont do this, blame them, not HORD.

Another strong reason why people cant opose HORD, with few and glorious exceptions, is PEOPLE REAL CHARACTER! If you are a chicken in RL, or a bootlicker, you will be the same in BD!

Seth, calling HORD bullies is a big mistake! Bullies have no honour in my dictionary, and I think you cant say this about HORD, we play fair and square.

I think Ilona suggested for HORD to split and raise new players, teach them and stuff... I did this for more than 1 year and ... NO MORE, THANK YOU!
After this year I found myself togheter with same 2 old friends on my side, no matter what, thats all...
Duzins and duzins of players passed in AOD, and in the end 99% of them were seeking only for a warm place to cash out at the end of the era, hidding behind AOD name.
1% succes is represented by a very dear new friend of mine - YoYo, or KingFisher.
There were other 3,4 but they lost their enthusiasm or spirit on the road ...

I also tried to gather players from other alliances last era to challenge HORD - this was another big succes ... none were interested!

So, I am asking you first admins: who do you blame? The ones who give ALL in this game, or the ones who play when they have time, or when they have courage to do it?

I totally understand RL issues, always comes first. But ... then you cant cry when you cant achieve victory if you play at 10,20..50% of the time.
SHAME on those who appeal admin because of their own weakness!

And what I dont understand most is why is this HORD problem? Why HORD must sacrifice themselves, break the great team into few teams?
As I see it, is ADMIN JOB to attract people to F4 to challenge HORD.
We, as players, spend money or our own time to play this game, its not our job to "save the server"...

Seth, you appealed to HORD sense of community - to a certain extent you are right, but what you are asking is actually to dilute and loose a worthy and deserving group of friends to ... what? To give satisfaction to whom? This is the REAL QUESTION HERE!

Dont take me wrong, I respect you Seth and all the admins, I am sure is very hard to run this game, and maybe not so rewarding.
But, for God sake, show some balls and take a decision: either ban HORD from F4, either you find a way to spice up this world, is your job.
Spread the word in other worlds, why are you asking us to do it?

Why dont you give a BIG reward for those who beat HORD next era? Give them 10.000, 20.000 .... 100.000 blue tokens if they beat HORD. And if HORD wins they will get only the normal reward, because you are afraid HORD might win again ....

Please dont hide anymore behind nice words like "sense of community"...That community could have killed HORD this era after tick 500 if they would have pushed a little bit more ... For this community you want HORD to split? Common ....
Only TBD stayed and fight like hell with us, all the others, for some reasons, failed to synchronize or didnt want to... So what are we talking about?

I came from a country who experienced comunism for more than 50 years and I know what "community" means and why only few people can dominate masses, so dont tell me stories. If the masses cant rise against the few dominating them ... then the masses deserve their fate!
I know all HORD members will be the first ones saluting the alliance who will beat them!

When a new era starts everybody has equal opportunity. Along the era only the spirit, teamwork, determination, and even sacrifice (time, familly, job) makes the difference.
And dont tell me about using red tokens ... everybody can vote everyday for blue tokens for free and use them, but use them wisely.

Admins are asking us to teach the new comers... pffff... why dont you admins write a manual of how to grow and develop as player in this game?
Anyway, all the veterans I know in F4 pickup every era new worthy players and help them to grow, I know this.

Since cave man, the strongest survived, its human nature... actually is NATURE itself.
Strongest can mean smarter too, many times wisdom outcomes brute force.

I have a funny feeling this become to similar to politics... which is sooooo lame ...

As you said, this is a game, lets play it with honour, but thats it.
We players spend a lot of time, some of us money too, so dont ask us to do more, its not fair.

To conclude: I know HORD became a nightmare for you Seth, I know its not easy at all to handle this situation, I dont want to be in your shoes :) ... but again ... its your job as admin to keep a server attractive. Our job as players is to play, as good as we can, with honour, is that simple.

You can call me selfish, that I dont mind about other players, I dont care ... I did my 1 year "work for community" in F4, wasted a lot of time, drained my energy and for what? To find out that only strong group of friends can last on long-term, which I knew anyway in the first place :)

I am a competitor, I want to win with honour, I am not a bully, so you have 2 options: kill me / kick me :) or accept me as I am until eventually I go mad and do stupid things in game to be kicked out.
This kinda synthesize HORD's case.

I will do my best to stick with HORD until it will exist in BD.
Here I found the spirit, the team, the determination that suits me perfectly!

Longlive HORD!

Well I'll admit right now I am only going to reply to some parts that I've read because I do not wish to post a wall of text. In my experience the truly great teams that I have seen play or that I have been apart of went to other worlds were strong teams were and fought them as well. If you really are trying to stop the battlehugs why only on one world? In fact in my opinion it should be a roaming force that goes wherever battlehugs take place and fight them. I think the bullying part does come in when it is just one world that is constantly being hurt in the process as it is not changing a mentality of battlehugs in fact it could be doing quite the opposite and encouraging it or it just hurts the world in general until you reach the point of only fighting new players that don't know about Hord, I'm sure that is not something you would want?

You know some of us were interested but didn't want to slow you down due to other factors in our lives. I wished you luck in your fight against HORD and when the era came I quickly realized you had become part of it. I cannot blame you for doing so because i can understand that it was tough to get some of the players to help, in a world that is full of "bootlickers"

Personally I like the split up option more but I think putting a price on their heads is a great advertisement for getting more players into f4.

Maybe some of the ELDR roster for next era should be split and all lead alliances against HORD.

Any Way I think that a decision should be made sooner rather than later.

I know I am not part of HORD and honestly should leave this conversation to the Admins and the respective players but I do love this server and the friends I have made on it and would love to see it thrive.

Tecunson, that is a huge wall of text, and there is no way I can reply to it all adequately. That being said, I understand your anger. I talked at length with Skip and we have some ideas to help alleviate this situation.

I am sorry if anything I said angered you. My Skype ID is tipsywater if you wanna hop on Skype and let me have it.

Thanks for understanding.

HORD with a sub (or whatever you want to call it) is even harder.

Over the last 4 years I've played this game, I've never been in a Sub, and if I had joined one without knowing, I threatened to leave if we didn't drop the "sub" status, and I have left many alliances that wouldn't change their status. That same thing always went (and still goes) with HORD or any variation of HORD I've been involved with. I'd leave today if ELDR became a sub of anybody. My biggest problem with the game is that subs form, anyway.

Just so you know, if ELDR is a sub then that would be news to me. We have never followed orders from any alliance, and I suspect we never will.
