I want to host a chess tournament, where our greatest strategic minds here in BD can pit themselves off against eachother, and we can display our results for all to see. I know that some staff will be involved as well. At the time of writing this, Myself, Simmen and Michael are all on the roster! =)

All games will be played through www.chess.com (so obviously you will be required to register an account there), would all be played through email coorespondence, and would be required to have a minimum of 1 day per move (making your move within a minimum of 24 hours after your opponent has made their move).

Many details cannot be worked out until we see how many people are interested in participating. Therefore, I am going to hold an open window of 2 months to get things started. So, if you wish to enlist, just plan on being available during that window, or at least letting me know if there is any period in which you would be unavailable.

I will edit this announcement in direct proportion to the response it receives. The more players I get enlisting, the larger the rewards for wins will be.

i went and made an account just for this. then i can't see chessboards because i don't have javascript even though i turned it on before i even entered the site :lol:

i went and made an account, and but the only proble i seem to be haveing is that i cant see my opponents back row

I am in. sure could spend some time on chess... although a very bad player... the thing once you are registered... there is a option there of creating a group... we can create a BD player group and play within ourselves anytime we want.
