Here is my second design:

Again, Black=empty space
Brown=Asteroid fields

The idea is to have a central area with space for about 5-6 outposts or colonies that is highly sought after while having the two sides of the map have large and small pockets (much like galaxy 2). You can go from one side of the middle "asteroid void" to the other side easily as it is 20-24 ticks across from one island to the other (the island pockets might need to be moved forward/backward to allow this).*

Force relocation will be very useful in this map to push people out of the central area and to obtain the best places in the very small black dots that would be asteroid pockets/islands (much like the ones that UNSC is using this era).

EDIT2: Nevermind, the map is fixed. Thanks alot guys for choosing my map! It really made my day.

For some reason this image is bigger...

Any ways, the idea behind this is to have an explosion with small pockets in the asteroids. These small pockets would range to having space for 5 to 20 objects (outposts, colonies, etc). As you move away from the center explosion, the asteroids get more dense.

Guerrilla warfare type tactics would come into play in this map as smaller alliances could achieve domination by attacking a small pocket and running before reinforcements arrive from nearby pockets. Larger alliances would have to fork over lots of energy for quick movement or be slowed down by all the random asteroids. This map would also balance the game by allowing new players have fun while not being surrounded by enemies on all sides.
