It will take every American in the country to stand up against our government to even think about changing it. 1 man cant do it alone. I would like to see every American just for 1 day not pay taxes, buy no petrol/gasoline, pay no bills, basically hurt our government thru their very deep pockets. A nation wide boycott so to speak. Just remember nothing is going to change until we Americans act on it and stop talking about it.
Hehe. Thats the way Gandhi used to fight. The Non-cooperation movement. Boycott everything and turn it into a loss. Unfortunately I am not sure this will work in these times. People are too selfish and worried about their own problems.
BTW the indefinite detention of US citizens - This is something that we in India tried. It was called POTA - Prevention of Terrorist acts. Pretty much anyone who was even suspected of terrorism could be detained indefinitely without a warrant and without proof for as long as needed. This started to be misused by people in power, cuz they started getting their rivals arrested in order to prevent them from competing against them in elections or to defame them etc.., So when the next government came to power, they repealed the law. Thankfully.

Still confused as to why these things are taking place and who's behind it all though...
It is because of the brand of capitalism that the US follows. It is corporatism at its highest levels. In short, they are at war, in order to earn money. They spend trillions there while domestic needs are put on the backburner. So to prevent people from asking questions, individual freedom has to be limited. Therefore they come up with stuff like Patriot act, NDAA 2012 etc., There could be more to it, but this could be a major factor behind such laws.
BTW I wouldn't be surprised if concentration camps are set up inside the US. After all, they will be managed by private corporations that will earn money because of it.
If you guys let this continue, sorry to say America is gonna turn fascist
