When it's your opponents turn they do move out of the way, which kinda helps.

But with the new range system it's fairly easy to guess what weapon ranges weapons have.

Long range weapons can only have 5-6 and 7-8 (at your level. Fairly confident it's the same for all levels, but I could be wrong). The red you see there covers 2 ranges, so there isn't any red behind that info box ^_^
