My opinion might be known already but I'll state it on here as well.
I believe the battle score system is fundamentally flawed and I would much rather see it removed completely to go back to the system where you get score from power, crystals, and relics.
However as it seems we want to tweak it and not get rid of it, here is the fix I propose.
Right now, there is no differentation for range, damage and armor at all. I think this should be fixed first of all. Killing a range unit should give you more score, and people suiciding armor on you should give you less score. Therefore I propose a range kill giving 1 score, a damage kill giving 0.5 score and an armor kill giving 0.2 score. This would give more score for actual wars where range units are killed and would give less score for just killing newbs with armor.
However, I want to see another fix to the system. I believe you should get score from killing anyone, regardless of their power. However as this seems to go against some fundamental "newbie bashing" requirements I propose you get score from anyone you kill that has over 40/50 power, limit to be discussed later. The reason for this is that it is just really annoying, even as a high power player, to have people attacking you or you having to attack them because they keep bothering you and not getting any score when you are actually taking quite some losses from all their range units.
That is my perspective on it, although I would like to reiterate the fact that I would rather see this way of gaining score removed. I believe that the current system of experience, more crystals due to garrisons and gaining territory should be sufficient reasons to fight.
If anyone is wondering why I do not support the 2x power part, it is because I do not think we should discourage gaining power. Disencouraging gaining power does not only discourage for example sustaining your worker count and getting conquers, it also discourages boosting. If you want to gain score it is actually better to rush units sometimes to kill off your workers and to have low power in general as you would otherwise get no (or less, in some suggested cases) score for kills. In my opinion we should not want a system that discourages gaining power, so a system based on getting score relative to your power is in essence flawed to me.

alot of people like it as it is easy to get score up now but it could still use a bit of work.

a very nice general concept... encouraging wars and battles. However it's more like rewarding suicide instead.
the new update for the battle score system that was planned will fix that to an extent though. But there is one problem still exists, that is the power limit. Which eventually make the players undesired to get a high power since they will get no score from suiciding squads.
one thing I still don't like is how u can't lose the score u gained through the battle. I mean, yeah the new update will gonna lower the score u gain a lot but it's still un-lose-able... which is not a good idea for me.

i like it... it stops people from winning without fighting anyone witch is the best thing
but it only seems to work if you loss the battle... ALOT of people in my world have got score from me killing them and iv got nothing... even strong people

I've stated in multiple places, good to consolidate here. I agree everything should give score. The idea of range/damage/armor giving different amounts is an interesting idea also, I'd be okay with it but not necessarily push for it as I'd have to do more thinking. My idea is to tier the score gained based upon power. I don't mind getting less score for hitting a newb or a small army that is easy for me to kill. I want something for the armor I lose killing them though or why bother killing this sub who is 45% of my power. Amount of the enemies power 4x 2x 2x<>.5x .5x theirs .2 score .5 1 1.5 If you added in Senatus'/others ideas on range/damage/armor being less score then this really mitigates the worries of farming newbs for score, but for fighting an active sub building anti-you, you're still benefited for killing them as they are for killing you. Boosters will still boost as a larger army still helps you get more kills/score, you benefit from fighting those your size however. Newbs benefit because they get something for their losses and even more score incentivizing them to keep playing, make range etc. Include in tutorial that range is better than all armor etc. K gotta run! Getting frustrated that my last 500 kills gave 0 score....

needs some tweaks right now its not suited to supporters of bd or experienced players and more suited to new players and such. make some tweaks get it right so that us supporters dont stop spending money boosting. for a lot of us its now almost no reason to build or boost large army's.
Also should always get points of admin ops and a minimum for all lost units in battle. lost 400 inft armour to 3 seth super units on a relic the other day absolutely no points. The scoring system just needs some tweaks so everyone can benifit not just the noobs who dont support!
