What would you say if I told you that from now on, all legislation in the Congress would be consolidated from a few hundred congressmen* down to 13 people whom you do not get to elect, with the rest of congress outside of these 13 people would get no say outside of simply saying yes or no, AND that if congress did not agree with these 13 people that "triggers" would be activated which would force the legislation of said 13 people through to law anyway?

No that is nothing like Communism. Communism is where the government has full control over pretty much everything. This is nothing like communism.

Seth, how would these 13 members be chosen is my question?

in communism you dont get to choose your leader either he says 13 people that you dont get to choose and you have no say in it whatsoever so its a little bit

well if you consider that the 13 people are big corporations and you get what we already have only they cut out the middle man

Wow Bork, thats just about dead on.

Did you know that there are 5 lobbyists from the federal reserve ALONE for every congressman / senator in Washington?

Its really sneaky how they slipped this into the debt bill. They break this debt ceiling issue like its armageddon, when the fact of the matter is that we have raised the debt ceiling once a year for years. This time, it was hyped up and disagreed on and held above our heads like financial armageddon! They basically held you and I hostage, with the threat of financial meltdown, in order to get their way. It is disghusting, and you need only use Google to see that there are many many others, even in mainstream media who agree with me! (that suprized the hell out of me!! :shock:

)

If you have never witnessed politics in such a way being manipulated by corporations and banks to get their will to fruition, this is VERY in your face!
Ive looked today, and all over the internet, this new panel is being referred to as "Super Congress".

They are not taking little bites out of the constitution any more. It is being eroded exponentially now, and our liberty is withering on the vine! The banks and corporations, just as Bork said, have been seeking for decades to "remove the middle-men" from the equation. With this bill they all but do that.

I urge you to investigate what the "revolving door of politics" is in Washington, and how it lead to these changes. It is important, and detrimental the very freedoms you take for granted!

Im ok with a recession, a lowered standard of living that so many of us have become accustomed to simply because inflation has made things so expensive. Jeez. Have you gone grocery shopping lately?!

What I am not prepared for is watching the constitution that grants us freedom, being literally rendered useless against a corporate & bank takeover in Washington! What is more, it is not happening with a bang...It is happening with a whimper.

Seth, I hate to break it to you. But our politics system has been like this from at least the moment I became interested in politics. So 7th grade when I took a Freshmen class on Civics and studied our government. So at least 4 years,

I mean just look at Super PACs. Congress has determined that corporations are entitled to Free Speech. They then determined that money=speech and so they now allow large corporations to make campaign contributions. Are government is a joke. It has been a joke for a long time. The entire face of our government as a democracy is a lie. I good one and a believable one but a lie none the less.
