On Fantasy 3, the clock often lags up to 30 seconds, making surprise attacks nearly impossible. On fantasy 4, the clock just lagged 2 minutes, and caused me to be conquered on tick 13. With such inconsistency, and without the element of surprise, the tactics of this game are completely broken.

hmm... I don't see how that's possible as I have broadband, and a 2011 computer. Is this game prone to DDOS attacks? Either that, or there's something wrong with Flash (possibly on my end).

The clocks aren't 100% on the dot... usually a +/- 1 or so minutes. So give about 5 minutes time just incase the tick decides to be funny. =P
