AuAu once again finished in the top 5. We played closely with SoLD alliance to command Australia and we pushed our territory further than ever before.

Our era started slowly as our usual start location was already taken by a well coordinated group of players who tagged themselves as LEL.

We recruited the assistance of our neighbours DIP (located in New Guinea)and quickly introduced them to newcomers LAW (based up in the north-eastern corner). LAW were planning an attack on DIP and through diplomacy we diverted their invasion force and had them work together to gang up on LEL.

This gave AuAu time to regroup and we were able to take out LEL who gave up and left the game. At this point I went away into the bush for just over a week and had no internet and due to a bug my vacation mode didn't get set so I lost my colony. I was ranked in the top 100 with 3 crystals when I was deleted.

I restarted from scratch in my usual start location that had been nicely secured for me by the rest of AuAu. Future leaders were identified within our alliance and old mentors played a strong role to build teamwork and a fun alliance culture.

The world order was now being threatened by knaW and a few of AuAu's advanced players had managed to join SoLD, FEAR, LAW, DIP, and others on an assault against them. AuAu was fortunate to bag its first large catch of crystals for the era.

Peace set in amongst our side of the world and we cleaned up our terrain and expanded through Antarctica and into Africa. We made new friends in Africa and they helped us to maintain order and security. An uneasy stalemate emerged across the Mediterranean and we dared only to venture back into Europe for occasional skirmishes and to poach a few crystals.

Meanwhile, DIP alliance had antagonised FEAR in South America and in response FEAR had sent an invasion force across the map towards New Guinea through their network of gates in Asia. Sensing we may be next, we initiated an umbrella defence and quickly captured outposts from DIP's inactive subs and razed them to reduce FEAR's targets in Australia. This also provided us with workers and resources to build our armies. We watched FEAR capture DIP missile silos and turn the missiles against their builders so we quickly demolished silos that had been built by DIP's inactive subs.

We scrambled to do some diplomacy with FEAR and when several DIP players chose to run from the fight and relocate into Australia we were able to claim some DIP crystals for ourselves. These were crystals that DIP had gained from the world war against knaW.

With this fight in the background, we maintained strong friendships with both LAW and SoLD so we were aware from both sides that they were planning a square off against each other. LAW were a bunch of newcomers to the world but they were a group of well coordinated experts out for a bit of fun. We remained neutral whilst LAW and SoLD went head to head in one of the best battles that E3 has seen.

At the end of this fight, LAW had lost their relic to FEAR who came in whilst SoLD were laying seige to LAW colonies. This gave FEAR 5 relics, SoLD had 3 relics, and KOD had 2 relics. Eventually KoD and SoLD handed their relics to FEAR as any fight would have resulted in mutual destruction and seen the relics lost to seagulls and vultures.

This era showed that power doesn't always come through battles. Good diplomacy and honourable relations with other alliances can help shift the balance of power.

The era also showed that battles can be fought honourably and without malice or spite. Kudos to SoLD and LAW for their sportsmanship and tremendous display of skill.

I finshed the era ranked 36th without boosting and in spite of my restart about a month into the era. This shows that a bit of bad luck at the start of an era can be overcome with a bit of luck, a bit of skill, and some good friends around the globe!

Congratulations to FEAR for winning Age 6

I wasn't here for that era, but It dounds like a good era. I wish I was apart of it. It seems my allinace (WWW) is leading the world early on. Its been a while since I have been on an Earth, but I am exicted to tangle with some of you while the others become friends for a long time :)

AuAu sounds like a fun alliance - I'd love a chance to play an era with you guys if you have a space open the next time you play.

John, you fail :P

AuAu did NOT elimnate LEL, that was purely the work of LAW. DiP had been attacking LEL for a week and before LEL had a chance to regroup, LAW took them out ^_^

LEL started in the spot that AuAu wanted to occupy.

DIP were friends and they agreed to help us reclaim that position.

We used diplomacy to divert LAW away from attacking DIP and we suggested they attack you.

BattleDawn is as much a game of wits as it is a game of force.

Last era is now history. However one of the lessons from that era is that an alliance can always bounce back from a stroke of bad luck.

LEL was just one of many alliances that I have seen crash and burn. Good alliances stick together and hang around in bad times as well as good.

There is more to BattleDawn than being ranked #1.

DIP actually attacked LEL because if we didnt, they wouldve conquered everything, including Papua. AUS was dead. Id rather fight in your hive than mine any day, so we attacked, and attacked, and attacked. LEL kept curling up into a ball and defending. All of a sudden LAW shows up at our back door with 500 tanks while we were in LELs hive. Thats when SoLD set up the NAP between us and LAW. LAWs army was bred for destruction and they went in and stomped out their tiny colonies stuffed with infantry. LAW became one of our best allies after this and AuAu had a home again. after rebounding from an overly powerful, coordinated LEL army for that stage of the game.
