This is one of the most controversial topics in BattleDawn. In this, I will debate the pro's and cons of both and then I will let you decide which chassis is better.
Now I will give ample evidence that I promise has not been tampered with. I will try to avoid using my own opinion for the sake of creating a false idea. Now we will start with Damage

DAMAGE
Inf Vehicle Heavy
Health:6 12 24
Damage:7 14 28
Range:2 2 2

Pros
Now this build what is commonly used at the ratio 10/20
Such as twice as many damage per squad then defense, 10/20, 5/10 3/7
This is very effective and therefore it is used by some elite players. However, this is also know as the NEWB squad. They say that it would easily be crushed by range.

This is what happens when they go head to head, so obviously damage holds it own. And to make it better, damage is cheaper. Actually when people gain a massive overhead, some switch to damage because it is much cheaper and that it can support Range very well.
Damage also has one more advantage, if it doesn't get killed by the second round, which in most battles it doesn't get killed so quickly, it starts dishing out more damage than range. It is more powerful than range at that point. So range would need overwhelming numbers to kill a decently sized force. Or at least suffer minimal losses.
Cons
Damage, however nice it is, has some major disadvantages too. It attacks second, (unless it leveled up to the proper amount) and it often damaged the first round, too the point where Range can suffer the damage. It also, against large numbers of range, becomes obsolete, due to large damage input the first round, (if in massive battles).
Because in all battles, the round is never even. So if damage is placed in large amounts can be crushed easily with a nuke, making it very placid against sabotage, because it would get hit first by range killing them all.

No one fights an even fight Fox. The purpose of range is to kill the opponent before round 2 or round 3 happens. This game is about fighting smart, not even. Using spies, nukes, and overpowering your opponent almost 3:1 in battles is the key to effective victories. This is not really a guide, or info that no one knew. The fact that people have to continually prove that Range > Damage is mind-numbing.

Damage is usually advantageous for the first 100 ticks but after that it is a huge advantage to have range.

No no no no damage does not work for anything but spam. For damage to actually do more damage than range it would require the battle to last at least 3 rounds. If you are fighting battles more than 2 rounds you are doing something wrong but 1 really should be what you aim for every round.

This is what kenny is trying to say. In a smart even battle, you would use spy attacks, nukes etc, and when both teams are reduced to 1 HP, this is the outcome:

2/3rd chance of having a perfect. Damage at its best can't perform a perfect. This needs to be put in players helping players, as it's not a guide. The information is biased on even matchups involving full HP, when Range wins in 2 possibilities of an even matchup, and can perform perfects in an uneven matchup.
