Just Wow.
I have a theory as to why...
You beat me and thereby earned bad Karma, this was the reaction of the universe to your foul deed. Thefore, if ever you meet me, recall this lesson and quit after about 5 turns so I get the full reward for my victory.
Test my theory when we next meet, and I am pretty sure you wont draw level 31 players any more.
Well, I may be right ...

It could well have been a temporary bug with his level calculation - it sometimes happens, Deflowerer commented to having had something like that happen.
I wouldnt let it put you off any particular level - just consider how many times it didnt happen....
You say it happened twice, I suspect the two events were quite close to each other, while he was still bugged - I doubt it will happen again.

i happened to me 2 times in a row i dont want to keep racking up losses and i never got a matchup with a lvl 22 there i went multi player 2 times got matched up with those 2 then changed lvls

Ack, I hadnt checked both links, the first qwas level 35!
Then I change my mind - it was probably a temporary bug with your level matching process.
Reconstructing the mech from torso up may solve it - otherwise restsrt the broweser if its a cashe-linked issue.

try #3 after clearing cookies and rebuilding the mech looks like fun.... Have you try watching the replays to see if anything is off in them? Besides the fact you are fighting someone at that high of a level...

i only fought 1 of them. the other 2 i just quit but no i didnt re watch them i'll do that in a sec
EDIT: nope besides the fact that i was insanely overpowered the fight itself was normal
