I have this issue with Supermechs at my work. It's actually very likely your firewall settings. Unfortunately, I do not know the exact fix in terms of your settings. However, I can play through the "new player" campaign as long as I want, but once I try to log in/register, my SM sits in a frozen loading screen. Try disabling your firewall and see if they fixes the issue.
