There are hundreds of people who play this game. Quite a large amount of currency is given out to the top 3 players every week. Most games that do these kinds of systems have a top 10 or top 20 system. Even if the top 5 or so rewards were really good and the rest were average it would make competition and people would strive to be the better which means more game time per person and more community as a whole. Giving only 3 spots assures the same 3-4 players each and every week gain a distinct advantage over casual players. The rewards ranking should go something like this.

1) 100,000
2) 90,000
3) 80,000
4) 70,000
5) 60,000
6-10) 50,000
10-20) 25,000
20-50) 10,000

The fact that these awards take place one once per week means that it would be impossible to abuse them and people who wanted more items would still have to pay. But this would allow players to strive for something which frankly at this point is out of reach to 99.9% of all players. Catering only the top .01% elite in a tournament of rewards for a multiplayer game is not beneficial to the community at large. And whatever is not beneficial to the community is certainly not beneficial to the game developers.

Agree.
Rewarding only 3 best players seem a bit awkward, and there's always the same 3 names up there to get the rewards. Skill and time required to hit the top 3 is massive, and it causes most people to give up even trying. Rewarding top 10 would be best choice in my opinion, even if the rewards weren't that big. People would get inspired to try harder just for the glory of it. :)

I agree to this too, I really don't see myself ever winning against those "dark red" players full of legendary wepons lol, so for me tournament doesn't even exist really...

Maybe creating random tournaments where people could automatically join through random battles, this would even allow very low level players win which would be a very nice thing.

I also agree on a broader range of reward placement.

May I also add...

I would like to see something on the lines of an "All Time Standings" system that never resets to give players something to strive for over the course of a long term goal rather then a week to week thing.

I'll base my no vote on what I saw rewards for large reward ranges caused. SM is quite different but still I think the idea of having to really work for the rewards is beneficial as well as gives players something to strive for. If anything I'd say shrink the rewards not add more.

1-250,000
2-200,000
3-150,000
4-100,000
5-80,000
6-60,000
7-50,000
8-40,000
9-30,000
10-20,000
Only 1-10 will receive prizes
