Ok so last week and this week, I've been in second and first place. However, when I lose I stay in 1st/2nd place.

I honestly feel bad about it, and last week I lost 2 or times within a short period of time and was still in second place. Luckily after a 4th or 3rd loss I got kicked to 5th place. I honestly didn't feel like I deserved it.

I'm thinking perhaps the ranking list is being nice to me because I'm a new player? Or because I have no medals yet? It occurred to me that since I'm practically still a noob, the ladder system would be more lenient towards me. Is it like this to everyone; is that just how it works?

I've heard other players complaining/wondering about it.

The problem is that when I reach second and first place, after receiving a loss, I STAY THERE. The system does not kick me down to a lower place.

The ranking system (you mean the tournament I assume?) is mostly based on quality over quantity.

Losing to newbs will cost you a lot of score (and winning gains you very little), beating a vet is beyond comparison however.

And losing to one barely hurts!

When I do lose usually it's a to good a player.
But what constitutes a vet and noob?
Rank? Time playing?
