Mentioned this somewhere before, but it doesn't go of wins alone. Say you kill a rank 3 player, you ammount of ladder points you'll gain from this is nothing, where as a top player will give you quite a few. Since losing doesn't matter it just means he's killed more higher ranked players than you.
