Say, you're pretty established in a server, you're active as hell, and you start on another server with friends 'cept that the colony name might be deemed offensive by an admin but NO ONE tells you, NO ONE warns you (even Seth warns me about my avatar, else I'd get another 12 hour somewhere somehow), you don't get a single chance to rectify the mistake by asking for a name change and/or changing alliance names, profile messages etc before getting banned for a duration, not just on the other server but also your main server.

How exactly does this work? Do we have to take the initiative to ensure if EVERY SINGLE WORD OR LETTER OR NUMBER is appropriate by flooding an admin's inbox with whether this is alright or that is alright before getting denied of 12 hours of game play?

No. You just have to use a little common sense. If you would not say it to a 13 year old child, you should not post it, use it, or send it to another player on BattleDawn.

You really should not make it out to be harder than it has to be.

If you think you need to ask the admin if it is appropriate or not, you should probably just steer clear of it.

A little common sense goes a long long way!

No common sense = ban hammer, is that what you're implying?

Even if we do have some, putting wierd but offensive names just for fun would earn that hammer without notice? It's all fun and games till somebody loses an eye huh? We must be serious in every name/quotes/messages we put or else we'll get the ban hammer? No jokes? Come on, we're mostly here for the fun this game provides, not to be banned for something like this.

To be honest, despite my rank in game, this is my first time playing, and the merciless ban hammers gave me a bad impression of this game. E4 needs to end faster, so I can quit in peace.

Your colony and alliance name was obviously offensive/inappropriate. We keep a clean atmosphere in the game, we don't mind some minor language but your name was completely inappropriate which is why you received a short tempban.

You can make your clean atmosphere and I can abide to it, not like I'll constantly put up messages like those, if it's wrong I'll change, don't need to be THAT harsh on me because of one simple mistake that no one pointed out until now. Obvious or not, let's just say I'm a bloody newbie who joined BD 1000 ticks ago, I can't possibly know that names like that would be causing a crapstorm among players.

It was a temp ban my friend. Looking into it, it looks like you should have clearly known better.

Perhaps you should have actually read the terms of service that you agreed to when creating your account?

Every TOS would have the same thing, but nothing on it said something like this would warrant an instant temp hammer without warning.

You acknowledge that Your User Account may be terminated or suspended should You use any offensive username.

Well, Andrew let me go as I've only committed the mistake for the first time and I was sincere enough.

Hmm... the magic of wall of texts made me miss that point out, but not everyone would know what exactly is deemed offensive to you guys, suspension should only be applied to persistent offenders.

Right now, I'm trying my damn best to keep myself out of trouble for as long as E4 is still standing, I wanna finish that business.. but I hope you guys don't drop the hammer on lesser issues such as this without giving the user a certain time limit to change it.. though not like I can tell you guys to do anything :\

This game is just driving me crazy.

Typically, on the first offense such as yours, I will ban and change the name and wait for the player to contact me to appeal the ban so I can be sure that I made myself understood. We are not unreasonable, even if we are firm.
