I go to a school where we use macbooks to study. We all seem to share the same ip address. If me and my friend both log on at the same time, say during recess, assuming we are on the same world, will we be considered as multies and get banned?

Yes, I suggest you wait until you get home or if that's not even an option, then just role-play or whatever kids do.

I would advice you to pm the admin if you play on the same server.

Normally u won't have any problem IF you can prove the fact that u and ur friend really exsist but sincerely, make ur life easier, don't give administration a reason to beleive u are multi accounts, just log with different IPs. Easier, better, less stressing.

And don't join the same alliance, the admins will ban you even when you informed him of the situation then.

Thats not necessarily the truth. Yes you can get banned even after you explain yourself, but that is over simplifying it.
I have noticed large teams of players, and they are usually pretty easy to pick out. The hard part is telling legit players from real players. Now, unfortunately, we dont like to give up all of our tricks for telling the difference, but I have alot of faith in our ability to sniff out at least 90% of the baddies.
A good example of getting banned after explaining to an admin would be someone who then turns around and creates a colony right next to the enemy hive after a war only to teleport in bunches of units from the offending alliance. Proof or not, abusing something we may reluctantly let slide to begin with, will always end in a ban.
I myself have had countless people prove their case with photographs. All manner of players ranging from nurses at a hospital, IT guys at the office, or a bunch of kids at a net cafe. Far and away, photo evidence is the only real way to guarantee some kind of exception to the rule for you (of course as mentioned, it does not apply if the exception is then abused).
Thats not required though. Other than that, Keeping in contact with the admin is usually the best bet and following any directions he gives you.
