I'm sure we're all familiar with exhibit A, the Super Nova. a weapon that originaly did 110 energy damage. when the community asked for it to be nerfed to -75 they said nah we'll do 90. and when the community asked again as if to flip us off the introduced a mark II version.

but the drama doesn't end there. the new energy drone which I was initialy fine with untill they TOOK AWAY THE ENERGY REQUIREMENT.

now the only drone in the game not to need an energy requirement is a (Want to be allies? Sometimes I like to pretend I am a princess riding a pony..) ENERGY DRONE. are you (Want to be allies? Sometimes I like to pretend I am a princess riding a pony..) mental cases? even the physical drones need energy.

arguably one of the most powerful drones is now one of the easiest to fire.

lets take some comparisons shall we? lets look at the heat mythical drone:


as you can see this drone does a comparitive slither more damage and heat than the triple pointer yet takes up 10 amunition and 8 ENERGY


here we have the new energy drone. the same damage stats as the evil spark but a stunning 20 less energy consumption. and compared to the sector eye its 5 less amo 9 less heat and 8 ENERGY. and just for good measure they made it reduce your energy cap as an added bonus to this totaly balanced drone.

WHY IS THERE NO ENERGY CONSUMPTION?

It's no where near as powerful as this thread would suggest. The 5 bullet requirement is a lot more significant that it is being made out to be.

And comparing it to sector eye is hardly fair, there is a reason that drone is very rarely used.

It really only provides a nice little boost to physical mechs and I challenge anyone to make a convincing argument that physical wasn't the weakest of the 3 damage types before this drone. Even with it, I'm not convinced heat and energy aren't still stronger.

This is not some huge gift to energy mechs though. If you built and played one you would quickly come to this realization.
