Hey all

This idea has been in my head for a few thousand ticks already...

how about we gather ~100 players, all meet in a big house/warehouse everybody will bring their laptop/big screen.

we'll open a special server with very fast ticks (2-4min per tick)
and run a 3 day speed round party. lots of alcohol, lots of fun, get to know each other, and make friends all over the world.
With free BD T-shirts for all
And of course a champion alliance in the end with a Trophy.
we could set up a real-time data monitor, to show the top players & alliances, with bars of who is strongest & statistics on the wall... and and and... so many ideas

First ever face-to-face BD tournament. (no weapons allowed inside the compound, hehehe)
The servers will run 3 hours in a row each time, and paused for food/sleep.
for a total of 3 days, or until the best alliance wins.
right now Ilona suggested Amsterdam, quite in the middle of the world for all of us... but I'll be happy to hear your ideas/suggestions, maybe you could help organize it, help us find a big place with good infrastructure to run such an event.

Sure, why not. I'd be dubious about getting enough interest to make this a reality though.

Just saying straight up ahead of time i wouldn't be able to come...

However while this sounds like an amazing idea i see some downsides... Would be costly for many though having to factor in things like travel, time from work etc, and getting together your whole team would be hard coming up with a date in which you all could come. You'd have to setup a point several months from now to ensure everyone would be able to make it.

Also, sounds like you would have to be 18+ (Alcohol) to come, and while most of the best could make it, a few would be left out since they're underage.

Although, the server would create MASSIVE competition increasing in boosting (unless you put a limit on that) which would be nice, and the fact we're all stuck inside of a warehouse for 3 days with servers paused for sleeping means the legitimate best team wins. No one can claim inactivity or whatever, just straight up skill and teamwork being the only deciding factors.

You would also have to change the build times for structures to match the speed of the ticks as well, not a major issue though I think.

Personally, if this were to happen in a few years time I'd love to come but at present theres a few variables that would make it impossible.

No but in all seriousness, I love this idea. I had been pondering to organise it for some of my BD friends, lol.

Some stuff in favor of Amsterdam.. We got quite a lot of hotels and stuff. Plus everyone knows Holland has always been quite a central place. Also, there's a direct connection from Schiphol airport to Amsterdam, it's fast and easy.

On top of that.. Well I have to restrain myself from not spamming this thread.
