Like I said, Syria...

Syria before Uganda. What's been in the news longer? Syria. What problem creates the bigger loss of life? Syria. How is forcing children to kill people worse than killing their fathers, burning them alive and then raping their mothers? If it sounds unbelievable, look at the link I put in the Kony 2012 thread.

That's not in any country's long term interests. Bringing down a dictator takes way less time and resources (if done efficiently ) than stopping white genocide in South Africa.

What about Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, he has led his oppressive regime on Zimbabwe for around thirty years and has driven a once prosperous country into the ground.

There is just so much there, that you can't focus on any one thing.

If you can't focus on all the things, then you shouldn't focus on one thing or a couple particular things. Hypothetically, if the US was at it's best, with no debt, a competent and just government, good employment rates, thriving economy, leading in science and education, etc. then they could target every single problem because well, it's the damn US at its best. We need to stay out of other countries, period. At least until we fix our own problems.

I know. I said we need to go to Syria. But that was assuming that we should go overseas to defeat an evil dictator and save the day, while not focusing on our own Country.

There could be an external intervention and covert help rendered to the rebels, even as we speak, in Syria. Its all a big ploy to destabilize Syria since it is an ally of Iran, so Iran will get isolated. While the war rhetoric against Iran doesnt ever stop, and keeps us preoccupied, a regime change is being instituted in Syria. Several journalists etc have come out and spoken about how arms were being seized in Syria from the rebels. Arms from the west.

There was another report where rebels cut up people and put them in plastic bags and flung them outside. This propaganda to arm the rebels, as if they are just is ridiculous. Once the rebels are armed, they will win the civil war, and a regime change will take place. A docile regime that serves western interests. Same like what happened in Iran back in 1953.

Its US foreign policy and its protocol never to interfere where there are no interests. A bigger travesty was the 2nd Congo war. 5.4 million people died. No one cared or intervened. Heck it was not even reported.

this is a bit disappointing, as if it takes KONY 2012 for people to even remember about africa.

also, the thing with removing dictators is you create power vaccuums, power vaccuums that can easily be filled with the same old or even worse kind of people.

btw, shouldnt this be part of the KONY 2012 thread?
