You can attack them then conquer them and you get your freedom back.When your conquered you can still attack people but the only person you can conquer is you conquerer.

Everyone is correct. Attack your conquere and win = freedom and your conquerer becomes conquered. Attack your conquere and lose = waiste of resources. Being conquered is actually a good thing sometimes. You can build your army to your liking without interference from the surrounding world. I would suggest building up your forces and then attacking him if you can take him... if not.. Find a good alliance and put an outpost close to them. Upgrade it to a settlement and when you are ready... .not too soon... relocate near them. When you relocate you automatically start to rebel. Make sure you alliance can protect you and that you can protect yourself so he can't quell your rebellion..

You can raise the outpost to get resources, or use it. Colonies.... unless they have crystals, there is no possible gain. (Besides killing other player's troops, and population)
