This is a discussion thread about this portal announcement:

"Effectively immediately we've changed the end times for ALL worlds.

Single tick(1 tick/hr) worlds will now end at tick 3500
Double tick(2 ticks/hr) worlds will now end at tick 5000"

why the change for double tick worlds to 5000?

also.. does this affect the no extensions for rounds during late wars?

5000 ticks are 7 months. I think its very long. I like the start very much :).
I would like to change back this please.

It is half of that Papszi.

Double ticks are 2 ticks and hour, or 48 ticks a day. 5000/48 is just over 104 days or almost 3.5 months.

Single tick of 3500 hours, or close to 5 months...

I can go 5000 ticks. I can handle that.
BUT 3500 Ticks? Woah...Way to much.

5000 on double tick is shorter than 3500 on single tick. I say those are fine. Only around a month apart.

With larger amounts of players in worlds and more competition it makes it harder for 1 alliance to come out on top. This is why we extended the traditional 3000 tick timer on single tick worlds to 3500. Double tick worlds are traditionally 4000 ticks which was often too short on the old client to play out a proper round so 5000 ticks is a bit longer to have a proper round.

Before this change ALL the new client worlds had an end time of 4000 ticks, both double and single tick and that number doesn't really work well for either server.

I'm all for the new time tables, or at least for double tick worlds. I always hated how the game ended just when the top two or three alliances were about to finish things off. Every alliance planned to kill the other and claimed victory ahead of time, but then the round would end and I'd cry cause I didn't get to destroy KoH, lol.

4000 ticks fly by when your playing double speed, so maybe 5000 can help enough to give me my epic battles... I need to find a KoH replacement though.
