Kind of curious as to how the ranking system is calculated. Mostly due to when I win and lose ranking. At first I thought it was just a direct win to loss ratio, and it may actually be, but to win a fight and lose ranking in such a system can only mean someone surpassed my ranking during the fight I was having.

Either way, curious as to how it works, math would be best.

Players are ranked by the number of "Ranking Points" that they have. The "Ranking Points" are the blue-ribbon things that you get at the end of a battle. Sometimes you might see +3 [Blue Ribbons] -- this doesn't mean you've advanced 3 places (from 105th place to 102nd place, for example) -- instead, it means that your Ranking Points went up by 3, and you might go up in the rankings *if* your new total puts you ahead of somebody.

I don't know how the number of Ranking Points is determined. It seems to be a combination of the level difference between you and the opponent (more points for beating a higher-level guy), and the number of rounds that it takes you to beat him (sometimes I actually *lose* ranking points in a long battle).

A good feature would be to make this system more transparent. Right now there's a thread in the Bug Report section talking about inconsistent Ranking Point awards.
