Simply, I will not play a game that has pop-up ads.
It is just degrading to me as a gamer.

Hi Exlex,
If I understand your signature right, you played for 4 years without paying anything (otherwise you wouldn't see ads) and now you leave because you saw an ad?

Well, this is a free game. They have to get income from somewhere. It's nothing unusual, every free-to-play will eventually have to resort to incorporating payments as much as possible into the core gameplay, even if they were only optional to start with. Otherwise, only a very small percentage of players will actually pay, and it costs money to keep the game up. It's standard from for all of this type of game; you can't expect to have the best game experience if you don't pay any more. It's annoying, but the aim is for the ads to 'nudge' players towards buying tokens by interrupting gameplay every so often until they pay. Expect more of this kind of stuff, because they have a decent-size playerbase and these methods are lucrative. It's based of a known psychological trick that game developers can use, where they prevent players from having a continuous, uninterrupted experience unless they pay. It has worked extremely well in Facebook games before (although with much larger interruptions that last multiple hours, unless you pay), and often people get impatient and pay.

tl;dr Tacticsoft are playing off a tactic that most free-to-plays use nowadays.

I don't play much anymore. I've found other games to play and I've seen pretty much everything that SM has to offer in the 2 years I've played. Still, it's been fun. :)

Hi Exlex,

I accept the reality that the developer team & Tactisoft both must create revenue from the games that they are creating.
I am fine with banner ads on the sides of my game. I am fine with the implementation of paid-only currency. I am fine with seeing players become the greatest because they take advantage of paid benefits. I am fine with pestering to buy tokens. I am fine watching ads to earn currency. I am fine with there being exclusive visual improvements in exchange for money.

There are a few places where I draw the line with games, (ex: If the game requires membership, the crap clubpenguin.com pulls, instead of a one-time-buy) and if I'm sitting down playing my game (well, tactisoft's game) and an off-topic, bright, loud pop-up ad for a product shows up in my face... That is where I draw the line.

Spoiler:
Mark my words, until pop-up ads have been recalled: I will not lower myself to play a game like supermechs.com. Send me a message when that day comes. Call it a strike. I'm sorry, but this needs to be done. Llona. Tactisoft. Respectfully, thank you.
