I have been looking in the account setting and I could not find one...

I am not deleting my account.

But, let's just say you created an account, and you really like the username. However, you made some really stupid stuff in the game which leaves you stuck. Like what? Maybe fuse all of your items to a newbie torso and you got no more SM credits and tokens. You want a fresh start.

Sure, you can create a new account. But you really like the username, as I have said.

Is there anyway that you can have a fresh start?

Thanks.

Hello,

No this is not possible sorry :(

Simply put, there are 2 games built on this system and removing an account could just have way too much side effects.

He also would not delete an account. It's been a policy for a long, long time for us.

Battledawn and Supermechs somehow merged in a way that lets a player use an SM account to play Battledawn, and use a Battledawn account to play Supermechs. I have no idea how this started, and to be honest I don't really like it, as accounts often get mixed up and sometimes completely forgotten. However, I like the idea of resetting your account for a fresh start, but first they have to find a way to get around the twisted accout situation.

Hate to say it, but that's how Super Mechs started...

Super Mechs was built upon BattleDawn's system and used them from the start.

So, no, we didn't merge it, it is just based of the same platform.

It's worth noting even if it was just SM, we probably wouldn't delete an account. If someone would regret it we'd have to undo it (especially if he bought tokens), which means adding a tiered system/very specific backups. Then all the additional data would have to be removed, all the game stuff adjusted (clans you lead, medals you have, past replays with other players.. A lot of data in the game depends on your account, it would need to be removed or programmed to handle this gracefully).

Most of it is probably built with some checks here and there just in case, but taking the time and effort to make sure people can delete their accounts without inconveniencing anyone or causing a security issue (.....get on your pc, delete the entire account...) could mount up to quite some issues/work, even just for SM, it may not be worth it (especially as you can just create a new one).

Whiping account data (ingame stuff) would be a bit more likely but with similar issues...

I'd say: Make a suggestion to add this feature and if there's lots of interest we will discuss and maybe create it. :)

No offense, but why would you build two online games on the same system? Wouldn't you have more options available if they were separate systems? I'm not saying it's a problem, as this hasn't interfered with BD or SM gameplay, I'm just asking why you would want to build two completely separate online games on the same system? It just doesn't make sense to me, so an explanation would be helpful, if one can be given (if it was a budget cut, then I completely understand).

Super Mechs originally built on Battle Dawn players, the BD token systems and it is somewhat safe to say Battle Dawn carried Super Mechs when it was too new to stand on itself.

Without the integration, it'd have taken much longer for SM to be playable and released, have a community etc :)

Having players from Day 1 coming over to test, give feedback and having a solid (secure) base to start from can be a big advantage!

Even today - did you know many Super Mechs players have a huge cache of free blues in BD if they spent tokens? In case they'd ever like to try it. :) Similarly many players play both games, they benefit greatly from having their status, tokens and so on work on both. :)

is the username "jomzojeda" really worth the hassle?

also what kind of stupid (Want to be allies? Sometimes I like to pretend I am a princess riding a pony..) fuses everything into a newbie torso? especialy with such wicked cool usernames at stake as Jomzojeda. they made their bed as they say.

you could always replace one of the o's with a 0 or some other such walkaround. it's very clever and groundbreaking in the field of online usernames. I hear you can also use 3's in place of an E in some circles. what ever has the world come to?

Wow. I didn't think this post would generate much debate.

I see the issue is very deeply rooted and would be very difficult to find a quick solution to.

I just thought about how some people simply abandon an account because they made a mistake in-game early on, and end up having to think up of new usernames. Thinking up of a new username is troublesome. :)

But, yeah, I guess I was thinking more along the lines of resetting SM game data, rather than completely deleting your account.

This discussion was very educational. Thanks everyone.
