I've had games against players that complained about the use of kits. I'm just wondering why.

Kits are a part of the game and add a level of strategy. Just like you strategically choose which order to place your mechs in, you also choose which combination of kits to use to supplement your builds.

Are kits frowned upon because some people can't afford them? It just seems odd. Why wouldn't you use a tactic that's built into the game? It seems as silly as complaining about drone use.

People hate kits because they do the complete opposite of what you're saying.

Basically every match is a gamble of whether or not you brought a resistance kit that matches the type of mech your opponent has. This isn't strategical at all.

The existence of kits essentially makes every match for a top player a living nightmare. Did I bring the right kits? Did they bring the right kits? Essentially, no one really likes kits. The game would be much better without them.

I'm a top player. I don't think it's a living nightmare. I like kits.

Kit use involves just as much strategy as hoping your line-up order matches up favorably with their line-up order. It is just as much of a variable as which upgrade pads are on the ground. This game would get extremely boring if there were no variables. It would just be a gear check. Every match is a bit of a gamble, and it should be.

I would also say that I don't think top players need to be catered to. If kits help a 2nd tier player beat a top tier player once in a while, I'm all for it.

I agree with Warr.

I respect the differing opinions.

But I also get tired of players trash talking when a kit is used. Most of the players that are typically in the hunt for medals use them. Then, other players from their own clans will talk trash when I use them. It just seems a bit lame.

dont you think it would be more strategic if a player could not simply not offset a weakness in his mech design or an oversight by kitting through his/her ass? if you build a mech that cant cut it without extra res or HP you should lose the battle, simple as that imho.

I can understand not wanting them in the game. Fair enough.

But currently they are part of the game. And almost all of the top players use them. So having a player talk trash about me using them, when the best players in their own guild use them, is hypocritical and ridiculous.

Well, I take the position for both parties!!
I did "hate" those who
"cheated" by using a Repair Kit and then beated me; yet, they did paid the price by being cost one Green Light of their turn, losing one critical shot to do damages or to even move their mech to a advantageous range.
So, all in all, using kits can be more fun to see in a,bigger picture!! :geek:
8-) ;)
