If I conquer someone who has other players conquered does that mean he loses controll of those castles?

If so I will be a very happy camper.

If you conquer that player all of his conquers will become free when you conquer him. So once you conquer that guy get ready to grab the people he has conquered around him! :D

Basic answer to your question is 'Yes'.

Once a conquerer of conquered colonies gets conquered then those that were conquered by them will be liberated.

Just a little reminder, those who are conquered by another conquerer are not able to conquer another conquerer except their conquerer.
