Will agree, the learning curve isn't nearly as large as BD ^^
If you can get BD down Hitmo, you'll figure SM out fairly quickly! Best bit of advice I can give though, don't focus on just damage output. That will get you up in the higher ranks, but then once you hit rank 4 and up, you'll hit a wall as people begin to actually strategize their builds.
Would also suggest sticking around in campaign for a while to gain gold. Get lots of items, play around a bit. Then, when you are beating them with zero challenge, go to vs with your decent equipment. You'll rise up the ranks extremely quickly as long as you built well.
