seen a lot of controversy here about dmg based builds versus the pro build and the more experienced players always insist that no matter the situation or the percentages u use the pro build is always better
if so are there any uses for dmg units?

Damage units are also quite good for squashing newbies armies for example:
1 damage anti inf tank can destroy 12 of the standard unit without dying therefore making it quite easy to gain exp and this allows you to get some very powerful damage units with 3 or 4 range.
