I have enough experience to realize that sniping is probably one of the most annoying things someone can do in Battle Dawn(I joined for the very first era of Mars 1... old client). Because of how annoying this action is, and knowing it can happen easily by accident, I have joined into the habit of always refreshing before an attack, AND, after an attack. The reason for this being that maybe someone else happened to attack at the exact same time as me, in which case the second refresh will allow me to see what happened and thus I may return my ships without anything stirring up into a slosh of yelling and arguing.

Recently I encountered an Ally who not only sniped the living **** out of me, but also tried to play a few moves to sway the sides of arguing. Here is the proof I am going to post to show how annoying a professional sniper can be like this guy, who thinks he's a genius because he can accuse others of sniping before you accuse him back.

I saw a colony with a crystal and only 30 tanks defending, GREAT FIND RIGHT? That's what i thought at the time too. I refreshed, nothing incoming. I decided to gate 8 ships over to beside the colony and attack from 4 ticks away(the closest you can possibly attack from). After selecting and sending my ships into the front lines I decided to do what i regularily did, refresh the page again. Still nothing, other than the ships I had now sent into attacking this colony.

I thought that this sure victory, 8 anti-tank fully loaded vehicle squads against 30 tanks, was a guarantee for free experience and no losses, something every attacker is aiming for. I left my computer for a few hours to go and hang with friends and when i came back i found a message in my inbox and that my power had reduced by a decent margin. I checked my events first and found that I had won the battle against the colony I was attacking, with 2 other people from an ally also helping with the victory. Then I saw the post-battle between my ally and I where I had lost all 240 units(120 vehicles) against my allies colossal 200+ vehicles and tanks, mainly anti-tank and anti-vehicle.

Now this brought me to the mail I had received, it read: "allies don't snipe." This was from my ally who had recently killed my 120 vehicles. Now here's something for a question, EVEN IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE THAT I REFRESHED AFTER I STARTED MY ATTACK, WHY WOULD SOMEONE EVER SEND 200+ VEHICLES AND TANKS AGAINST AN ARMY OF 30. Not only would they had to have seen my army moving to make that decision, but since I was attacking from so close they must have had to gate the extra units in nice and close so that they would even have a chance at hitting the colony at the same time as i did. Not only that, but when u see 8 squads attacking someone your first reaction isn't "OMG HE'S SNIPING ME I SHOULD ADD ALL MY UNITS SO THAT MY ALLY CAN'T POSSIBLY FIGHT BACK... BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT ALLIES ARE FOR"

Not only was this move to attack my units with 200+ units of their own completely intentional, but instead of pulling back the 3 or 4 squads that one would originally send, or if you're cautious like me, the 8 squads, they gated MORE units in to make sure they killed my units and the units they were attacking with minimal damage. Is it just me or is this completely asking for war? YOU CAN'T JUST SEND A MESSAGE BLAMING YOUR KILLING OF MY UNITS ON ME BECAUSE YOU THINK I MAY HAVE SNIPED A SINGLE CRYSTAL.

Now that brings up a much better question, why am i even posting this in the first place? WELL MY DEAR OLD FRIENDS, this is one of those posts that are used to expose how much of ***holes some people can really be and how far one of these professional snipers will go just to get a single, wait for it, CRYSTAL. It wasn't even a conquer!

So is that a reasonable enough reason to start a war with this alliance? No? Oh okay, well how about that fact that this is the THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH THIS EXACT SAME ALLIANCE.

Happens everyday and to me it's not that annoying, it's just one of those things you cant do anyhting about.

Damn I feel like shi* when this happens. =(

1. you should be online if you have an attack going with more than a couple of squads

lots of sniping happens in e3. if you had a forum topic for each one it would spam the gameplay section.
