heres the reasoning for only using mechs (despite it being predictible and most forces already using missile weapons)

lets say that infantry do one damage and have 10 life, vehicals do two damage and have 20 life, and mechs do three damaged and have 30 life.

one mech vs three infantry.

force one's life vs force two's life
30 vs 30
27 vs 27
24 vs 24
21 vs 21
18 vs 20 at this point, one of the infantrymen are dead, and the damage force two does is reduced by one. (extra life because damage doesnt roll over from one infantryman to another)
16 vs 17
14 vs 14
12 vs 11
10 vs 10 here the second infantryman dies, leaving only one DPS, vs the mechs 3
9 vs 7
8 vs 4
7 vs 1
force one is victorious
this is just an example, and i havn't actually done any experiments to prove this, but im pretty sure it works this way. i think even if both forces used missiles, bot only force one was a mech, force one would either win, or force two would be very very critical..
occaisionally i toss fome vehicals in there to mix things up... but mostly thats how i roll

If you have battles lasting that many rounds, you're doing it wrong. That doesn't really have much impact in real battles because the goal is to finish it in one round, two if you're not so lucky.

3 inf is costs as much as 1 tank and is as strong as 1 tank.

So...
Tanks are not the best chassis , non of the chassis's is.

Cost has nothing to do with it, you missed the point he was trying to make. I'm just saying the point is moot because it only matters when the number of rounds is quite high.

I dont think the amount of rounds will change it.
you might do -4/8 dmg or something every round , but that only matters if its like 300 rocket inf/150 rocket veh vs 100 beam/anti-i tanks

But then again , i never tested it out.

You still don't get it. He's saying that since infantry are in smaller pieces, as you destroy each piece the whole does less damage, while instead tanks are larger units that don't stop doing damage until the whole tank is dead, instead of after 1/3 of the tank dies it does 1/3 less damage. See what he's trying to say?

I noticed that yes.

But whit most battles (unless its some noob not using armour)

A. end in round 1 , in which case the armour of the winning side still stands
B. end in round 2 , same as A. , well maybe some range , but it wont affect the battle
C. end in round 3 , same as B. But it will have either no effect , or the inf/veh side doing -4/8 dmg (or more if the use dmg)
D. end in round 4 , same as C.
E. end in round 5 , same as D.

Etc.

i've started to notice the same thing. thats the "or should" part.

anyways, i think that the combat system is flawed, and that the casualty rate should be a lot higher.

i also wasnt takin into effect the weapon class, or the upgrade class. i was saying, when everyone hass beam and damage upgrades, one mech will own 3 inf

no self-respecting player uses dmg units.

besides
if mechs "owned".

Wouldn't that make the game kinda boring?
