To Enforce, or NOT to enforce?

Here is the scenario:

Colony A is in alliance "X", and then decides he is "not playing". Colony A then leaves or gets booted from alliance X. At this point, I understand getting conquered by alliance X, although I do not necessarily approve, it seems to be relatively common practice.

However, instead of not logging in and eventually deleting (which would indeed suggest that the player is "no longer playing"), the player still logs in regularly and yet only seems to do the bidding of alliance X, be it with military, spies etc, or both and remains perpetially conquered by alliance X, Should the admin take action?.

I do my best to enforce what the community is telling me they want enforced. In this case, I was repeatedly getting asked to step in and told by players that allowing this sort of thing turns BD into a popularity contest (how many friends can you have join and be your conquer / slave in one era?), and subsequently ruins the game.

How do YOU feel about it? It is important that you reach an agreement. I will enforce this as the community would have me enforce it.

Its a very tough option I will wait for some more feedback and pros and cons but however you have got to argue that subs are therefore farming as well :roll:

Yet in the above scenario, him/her continues to act as if he/she is part of the alliance he/she got kicked from and conquered by.

Which would basically be like he/she's part of the alliance, just conquered and cannot help in defending or the like. The alliance that conquered him/her would also be receiving tax, though a small amount.

No. Don't get conquered by them. Dont hang around while being conquered by them and do very little. Especially when what you do when you do something, suggest that at the very least you are STRONGLY sympathetic to the main alliance' cause.

The issue at hand is whether or not I should allow folks to have their friends hang around their hive conquered by them while being slaves to them.

This has come up several times, and it is important to cast your vote here!

Having conquers of yours constantly doing your bidding!


I understand completely the differences in game dynamics such as moving from one alliance to a friendly. I understand that even sometimes players will boot & attack allies in order to keep the alliance' crystals out of enemy hands.

I am referring specifically to the practice of people "leaving" or "just watching" in which these players will usually park next to their friends and remain conquered by them while doing their bidding.

Good examples of this are when you attack an alliance, and suddenly anywhere from 1 to 4 or more conquers of that alliance suddenly come to life and spam you, or nuke you or anything that hurts your attempt at harming the conquerors.

OR when an alliance is gearing up to attack you, and suddenly their conquers come to life and begin to soften you up or spread your forces out before the main attack happens.

These are relatively common scenarios, and you players have been on the fence for a while about it. Cast your vote and leave no doubt from now on whether or not you want me to police this sort of thing on F4 at the very least.

Should I just allow this outright? Allow people to have their friends "watch" or "quit" in such a way? The only reason I could see allowing someone to conquer an ally in such a way is if they are 'playing keep away' with crystals (in which case I would hope to see a prompt liberation of conquer), or if the player legitimately was quitting and the alliance wanted to consolidate the crystals earned together (in which case I would hope to see the colony delete asap).

Should I just completely disregard these types of play?

well it's natural for the one who leavs the alliance to get conquered but i agree to this only if the scenario continues as the conquered loging in rarely and not playing

well i can see exactly what you are saying however it is hard to judge who exactly is doing this

i can see the reason for farming but however ive seen players get kicked conquered help the alliance out then got let back in

this is also going to be very hard to judge and if you just delete them on the spot then they are going to be annoyed if they are falsly accused

its a very tough arguement but it has to be obvious ive also seen alliances go down when they have kept a conquer friend he was helping them gained their trust so he was liberated and conquered

Its a good idea but the main problem is judging it so first you will need to speak to the player and not just delete them


so overall i like the idea but how you are going to judge who is helping by not playing or who is helping to get back in the alliance or gain their trust to get themselves liberated or to backstab them

I believe

Different scenarios should have different consequences

for example OP building yes
Scans maybe not

its a tough decision to make im not really sure i think more feedback is required before i make my decision

witholding my vote for now
