The spam board has been cleaned out and is in need of some fun! To aid encourage a little fun, we have decided to have a Spam board contest!

Every month, the forum moderators and I will get our heads together and decide upon a single new Spam post that meets our criteria for the best spam post that month.

There will be several criteria we will use to choose, but the important ones will be (but not limited to) the following:

* Creativity! The more clever or creative your post, story, game or otherwise, the more likely it will be chosen!

* Fun! It has to rock the fun' o meter! If it isn't fun, it isn't gonna fly!

* Participation! Play on the spammers! Get them involved! The better you do this, the better your odds of walking away with the prize!

Again, these are not the only criteria, but should be your main focus! If you can rock & roll and stay within the Spam board rules, you have a good shot. I expect after some time and promotion, the competition will be stiff, but it that should only make it more fun!

Oh, and the prize will be a cool 1000 bonus tokens awarded to one awesome spammer each month! This only applies to posts on the Spam board (in the non-battledawn boards).

There are only a few things that can make you ineligible for this contest.

*If you are a moderator, you cannot participate, as you will likely be helping me judge

*If you get a warning for spamming or anything else in the one-month judging period for which the prize is given, you are not eligible

*If you won the reward within the last 3 months, you are not eligible

Other than what is mentioned here, there is only to follow rules and have fun!

This was not possible without clearing out YEARS of threads, posts and memories from the community? Not having a go at you Seth, just asking WHY exactly you've deleted all of this that the community has been working to establish without any notice and if it would be at all possible to bring it back..?

EDIT: Just letting you know, this was an amazing idea and all but you kinda killed it when you cleared everything.. I will not be participating in spam until further notice.

uhh Ferret, There was kinda a HUGE argument between old posters and administration. He had a good reason, trust me.

Not good enough. Why should he destroy every player's work (years of it) just because of a small percentage of the community rebelled?

And maxattack, please do not step in - you have not been with the original spam forums for long at all hence you have no connection with it. To prevent this from becoming a trolling argument I will stop posting in this thread - Everything I wanted to say has been voiced.

The decision to reset spam was made before the argument broke out.

We decided that since spammers primary occupation in spam was to complain about the current state of spam, and reminisce about the old days, we'd roll right back to day 1.

A fresh, clean slate. No lingering on the past, not falling into the traps we did before. A newer, better spam.

It totally sucks that had to happen today. Please dont drag all that stuff here.

Routhy is right. A clean start. New spam opportunities for new community members. Sometimes a fresh start is just the way to go. Im sorry if I have hurt any feelings.

Why is there a spam contest, but not a guide contest? Not a suggestion contest? A war-story contest? A tutor contest?

Seems we're giving incentive to the wrong thing, but that's just me. We shouldn't build a community through spam, but through the actual game, if we can't bond over the game than we have much bigger problems than the spam board.

Did I say that this would be it? No, I didn't. There will be more, but I am only going to take on what I can handle at any given time. If you saw me working, why didnt you approach me personally for a suggestion or to offer help other than come here to heckle?
