Voter Turn out for EU elections was at an all-time low of 42%. With some countries as low as 19%(Slovakia). In addition the largely socialist governments lost a lot of ground to conservatives.

While normally I would applaud this as it would cause the Euro to weaken to the point of nearly allowing me to vacation to Europe again, it won't even cause the Dollar to rise due to our unchecked overspending coupled with spur of the moment policy which will/is continuing to grow the US unemployment and very likely cause inflation to skyrocket in the near future. Therefore the Dollar is unlikely to make gains and there is no gain for anyone(except European conservatives) and perhaps opposition candidates who can bank on not being the person in power while everything goes down the tube.

I'm mostly and optimist and believe that all the "freaking out" globally caused unnecessary knee-jerk reaction which will hurt us greater in the long run. Such facts as Obama's and other economists predicted the worst the US unemployment would reach would be 8% by Q1 '10 and now it is 9.4% nearing 10% and still rising. Now are the numbers skewed by Obama's lies telling everything the grass is green while it's browning or reactionary policies that were not thought through. Only hindsight bias will tell although even then it'll be spun faster and more rigorously than nuclear material in Iranian centrifuges.

Personally I say a combination of media spin saying the economy is stronger than it is with a combination of fiscally irresponsible policies.

I apologize for starting out with EU tag-line and going into the US economy but lets admit globalization is here to stay and you really cannot draw a line between them anymore.
